On bended knee at the stroke of midnight…

Jeremy wanted to propose to his girlfriend late in the evening on New Year’s Eve.
He wanted to propose outdoors with a winter vibe, but wanted somewhere a bit more secluded than ever-popular Grant Park or amongst the merrymakers on the Chicago lakefront. After brainstorming via email, we found a quiet little spot outside of a residential building near Maggie Daley Park. He got the ok from building security to use this corner of their property, and arranged for Graciela’s family to leave dinner a bit early so they could race over to set up candles and a rose petal path.
The scene was set. The snow started falling at the perfect moment, a few minutes before the stroke of midnight. Jeremy was on bended knee. He took her hand and asked those magic words that she had been dying to hear.
After basking in the moment for a few minutes, Graciela’s family snuck out from their hiding place to greet the newly engaged couple.
I can’t think of a better way to ring in the new year, no pun intended!
